I apologise if this has been addressed before....

We get our apples from my father's orchard. He gardens organically. :tu BUT- the apples are maggoty. He eats them as is and makes sauce with them. But they are giving me the willies!!! :shiver Some are OK, where you can just cut them up and eat most of it. But most of them are too maggoty IMO. My dad thinks I am being silly. So.....

1) Would you eat/use maggoty apples?
2) Are maggots harmful or just gross? (consumption-wise)
3)How can you organically eradicate maggots? Or can you????

TIA!!!! :grin

Should add, the maggots have left the apples.... they aren't actually still IN the apples!
