I am wanting to cook some chicken (2 whole chicken breasts) and put them in the crockpot for tomorrow nights supper - but don't have a clue what and/or how to season or what to put in with them?

When we get home from working out we need something to eat and quick - as we're starved!

Thanks in advance-
Randi

Dump in some BBQ sauce. After a few hours, shred it up and stir. Cook a little longer. Serve on buns with French fried onions :yum

As a side note, you don't have to pre-cook the breasts before putting them in the crock pot. When you say:

I am wanting to cook some chicken (2 whole chicken breasts) and put them in the crockpot for tomorrow nights supper

I wasn't sure if you meant cook them and then put them in the crock pot or cook them by putting them in the crock pot. So just thought I'd clarify in case. Just throw them in raw.

I toss a can of cream of mushroom or chicken soup in mine, and then 1/2 a can of water and then the chicken. When I get home I cook rice and veggies. ( the soup is good poured over the rice.) I season it with a little meat season.

I have 3 favorite chicken in the crockpot recipes

Hawaiian Chicken
chicken breast
green pepper
shredded carrots
can of pineapple with the juice
a little brown sugar, soy, sauce, vinegar, and ginger

Crockpot Cordon Bleu
put in chicken breasts
put on a layer of swiss cheese-- slices or shreddies
put on a layer of ham
mix up a little box of stovetop stuffing with two cans cream of soup and spread on top

Cacciatore
chicken breast
green pepper
onion if you like it
put on some spaghetti sauce

yum!
all use uncooked chicken breast, but you should thaw it first

I sometimes cook chicken breasts in water and a little italian seasoning. And then when they come out I stuff them with feta cheese and diced tomatoes. And then I bake them brushed with olive oil long enough to get a tan. :giggle it only take about 10-20 minutes. Oh and the feta is great because you can get it flavored with basil and pesto, or with black pepper. Then while its baking i make some egg noddles and toss them in garlic and butter or olive oil. Serve with a salad and you have a resturant style dinner in minutes.

Take one toddler who has chicken pox, place in a large pot or baby pool with a healthy toddler, bake in outdoor sunshine for 1 hour.

Super easy: Throw in your chicken (we use skinless boneless right from the freezer) & pour a good amount of salsa on top. Then for dinner we wrap it in tortillas w/cheese, veggies, & sometimes rice & beans. Yum!

I do the apple chicken recipe that I got off this board all the time.

I just use frozen breasts and it cooks in less than 4 hours no High so if you are gone all day use low.

Chicken breasts
barbeque sauce
1 diced apple

cook, shred chicken,serve over rice.

there was one a friend gave me for some kind of asian chicken. Put the chicken in the crock pot with a dash of soy sauce and a bit of brown sugar. ( I think its teryaki) and a little water.

put cloves of garlic under the skin and season them with whatever, salt pepper etc. Put in the crockpot with a tiny bit of water, toss in a few more garlic cloves. Delicious

Put frozen chicken breasts in with some chicken broth, soy sauce, and canned pineapple. You can add some sherry too. Low 6 hours. Serve with rice. :yum

This works with canned mandarin oranges too.

one of my faves is:

chicken breasts
cream of chicken
cup of milk
instant stuffing mix (I"m sure you could use real stuff too)
water mixed with the stuffing mix
frozen veggies

Throw it all in the pot and let it cook a few hours. I sometimes use this one on Sundays, and it's easily done by the time we get home...if you were gone all day, use low.

Sometimes I dice up potatoes and throw them in there too, and it's a complete meal.

Chicken breast
Small jar of salsa
1 or 2 cans of black beans

That's it and it is so good over rice.

I mix rice, cream of chicken(and/or mushroom), some seasonings, and water together in the crock pot, cook for about 4-5 hours(or until chicken is done) and then eat. Yummy.. If you cook it longer than 5 hours the rice gets too soggy. But if you like super soggy rice, cook it all day.
