I'm typically critical - it has skinny arms because I didn't allow enough for seams after I adapted the pattern to get more of a "baby" shape to it... And the hair probably isn't sewn as firmly as it should be but I ran out of the right colour cotton... I hope it survives life with a two year old though because I worked really hard on this and I *do* love her, she's my first successful waldorf doll. :-)

Jenna actually spotted her hidden on top of the kitchen cupboards and cried for ages asking for the baby and saying she NEEEEEDED a huggle. I felt terrible but hubby insisted that I couldn't give it her before Wednesday. I think that means it has her seal of approval though. :heart She calls other dolls that she has seen and played with "dolly" but this one was "baby". :mrgreen

Oh no! Now if I can, you can I'm sure of it. My hand stitching is RUSTY but the patterns in the book I got are pretty foolproof. :hug It's the Marikristin Sealy book, Making Waldorf Dolls. :tu

A little. :giggle It has her hair colour exactly, hubby and I stood in the shop matching wool against her head while she was asleep in the sling, so we got an exact match for the darkest, lightest and mid-tones in her hair. :mrgreen I'll try to put a pic of Jenna in my avatar and you can tell me. :shifty

I think her features are a little small for her face - does anyone who has made these think I could stitch over them with thicker thread without ruining her? I can't decide. Guess I have to make my mind up if she's finished or not by wednesday or Jenna will never let me have her back to make changes - I can remember at 3yo my mum insisting on taking a doll back to the shop because some of her hair came out and it broke my heart. Still makes my eyes tear up at 22. ;)
