My Foster Mom used to make this and i don't know the recipe. I LOVED it and have been wanting it for the last couple of weeks. All I remember is it had milk, egg yolks, and brown sugar in it...once baked it had kind of a runny custard consistency and all the brown sugar was gooey and carmelly (is that a word :think) under the milk layer.
Anyone have any Idea what I'm talking about?

Well from what I've seen, if it was a pie, it sounds like a variation of a custard pie. Some have brown sugar, some don't. If it was in a custard cup (small 1 cup capacity), it may be a flan (very yummy and carmelly - I like that word).
Whatever it was, it sounds good...DH would like it :yum

Buttermilk pie.
This is a wonderful, old-fashioned pie. Don't be put off by the buttermilk; this is a sweet and flavorful dessert. This recipe makes two pies but, if you want just one, it can be easily halved.
3 cups sugar
6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
6 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
2 sticks of butter, melted
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 unbaked 9-inch pie shells
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Combine all ingredients in large bowl. Mix well. Pour into 2 unbaked pie shells. Bake 10 minutes at 400°F. Reduce heat to 350°F and bake for 45 minutes. Makes 2 pies.
