I know there are a million of them on the internet, but I'd like something tried and true!

Thanks!

this is one my family really likes a lot.

1 lb ground beef
brown meat, then add

1 tbsp onion flakes
1 cup ketchup
1 tbsp mustard
1 1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup water
grated carrot and/or zucchini

serve over buns, great with some shredded cheddar on top.

My favorite is to use a can of chicken gumbo soup, add some ketchup, mustard, and a little worchesterhire sauce, and heat up. That's how my mom made them when I was growing up.

Here's Rachel Ray's recipe. :tu :tu

1 & 1/4 lbs. ground beef sirloin
1/4 c. brown sugar
2 t. steak seasoning blend (like McCormick's)
1 med. onion, chopped
1 sm. red bell pepper, chopped
1 T. red wine vinegar
1 T. worcestershire sauce
2 c. tomato sauce (or less)
2 T. tomato paste

Saute beef in lg. skillet over med. high heat. Combine brown sugar and steak seasoning, then add to skillet. When meat has browned, add onion and red pepper. Reduce heat to med. and cook for 5 min. Add vinegar, stirring briefly to reduce, then add worcestershire, tomato sauce and paste, stirring to combine. Reduce heat to simmer and cook 5 more min.

My recipe (I don't measure so these are approximates :shifty):

1lb Laura's Lean Beef 92% or 96% lean
1-8oz can tomato sauce
1/4-1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup of diced green pepper
1/4 tsp chili powder
dash of worchestershire
1 T. brown sugar (or molasses)

Brown beef in skillet, crumbling while it cooks. Drain grease if necessary. Add remaining ingredients and simmer on low, stirring frequently for approximately 15 minutes. Serve on buns and top w/desired toppings.

(We like Rudi's Organic WW buns and I top mine with sharp cheddar and mustard. :yum)
