Kinda a early fall question...

I haven't gotten to post in this forum much this year. But I do have a nice little garden bed growing. I have work really hard on it this year. Which leads me to my question. Does anyone prepare their garden bed for the fall/winter? I am worried about weeds growing in it over the fall/winter. Is there anything I can do to prevent that.

weeds don't grow here in the winter. well not usually. if my plants are fragile I cover them with leaves or mulch and then my roses get an upside down plastic basket with holes. So they don't get crushed by the weight of the snow.
