External Hard Drive Recommendation?

I want to get an external hard drive to store our digital pictures on and I need some recommendations. :grin How much space do I need? Reputable brands? Anything else to look for?

We have a Maxtor Internal drive and we love it.

I know External's are more expensive, but I also know Maxtor makes those, too!

If you're storing pictures, I don't think I'd go below like 120gigs. We have 250 so we have lots of room, but pics take up a lot of space if you take a lot!

I'm on a couple of sites for pro photog's, and I don't know any of the who trust their pics to external hard drives yet. After a few of the lost entire weddings for clients, everyone's kind of backed off right now.

The general concensus seems to be that writing them to DVD is more stable right now :shrug
