Can cloth pads be hand sewn? I have a couple cut out but my sewing machine died on me. :( Does it take very long to do by hand? Do they fall apart fast if u dont use a machine?

I have hand sewn all of mine. (about 8-10) I've used them since last summer, and so far so good. :tu They are the first thing I've sewn in about 20 years too, so if I can do it, you can do it. :) It took a while to do, but I found it to be surprisingly relaxing.

I did it just to see if I would actually *like* using cloth pads, that's why I sewed my own. Once I realized how great they were I bought 3 from ebay, but I actually prefer the ones I made to the "fancy" ones I bought. :tu

I hand sewed some last summer too. The summer was so hot, and my you know what was breaking out from the yucky disposable pads.( I had a rash.) anyway, I found an old baby bed pad that had started to fray. So I cut it into washcolth sized pieces, folded them over and sewed up the edges. The worked really well.
