Hi, I was wondering if this is normal? My ds, 2 yrs, gets diarrhea bad whenever he drinks any type of juice and this has been going on for at least a year now. Well, now he gets diarrhea when he drinks gatorade and if lemon juice is added to his water. I usually just stick to plain water and milk, but my dad and my ds's dad have given him gatorade and lemon juice in his water the last few days and ds still is getting diarrhea. His body seems to just be sensitive to this or something? Does anyone have any insight into this? oh, even if the juice is diluted, I still get the same results - diarrhea.
Thanks for any help.

my dd can't handle some juices...might be allergies or might just be that his system isn't ready for juice.

Thank you, at least I know my ds isn't the only one like this. :)

almost all juices have citric acid, does he have this same problem with other things that contain ca?

yah know...I think J can't tolerate anything with citric acid in it....apple juice is about it..and only in small doses.

does he happen to have the same problem with corn? since 99.9% of ca in the us is from corn. my ds is fine with ca though, but it may hafta do with the breakdown of it though

She is fine with corn....she just can't eat: strawberries, oranges, grapefruit, lemons, limes, tomatoes, and peppers....

I haven't noticed anything different when he eats oranges, grapefruits, etc. But I have ds oranges today, so I'll keep my eyes open and see what happens with the ca. Thanks for the idea though.

citric acid in juices is not citrus, it's a seperate ingredient, almost always made by corn
