and it worked!!!! Dh made some changes around the house and brought down the bouncer seat. Ds1 was really upset because I took away the bowl and cup of pasta in tomato sauce that he was playing with and would not stop crying. I felt that ugly feeling building up inside of me. Then I saw the chair. I took ds1, put him in the chair, handed him a teddy bear, and this one toy that plays "It's a small world". He stopped crying and we were able to have a nice rest of the evening.
