How to remember the difference between am and pm

I'm trying to think of a way to help DS remember the difference. I told him that it switches over at lunchtime and he remembers that but gets them mixed up. The best I could come up with was "When you wake up in the morning, you might have A muffin for breakfast. Before you go to bed at night, make sure you go Pee ." For whatever reason that's not enough to help him remember, I can't imagine why, it makes sense to me.

Hmm. I guess when he pees in the morning it gets confusing?

How about "A" comes before "P" in the alphabet, so am comes before pm in the day...

I'd use my sense of humor in this:

am: "aaaahhhh! the kids are awake!" (hey, awake in the morning) "mommy's gonna run and hide!" :crazy2 :bag :hiding

pm: What the Parents say at bedtime: "Please go to sleep." Parents, please. :yawn :cosleep
