I have tried 3x now to do this...I end up with a DVD-R or CD-R that will play on my computer, but not on my DVD player...any ideas why? i want to send video of ds to dh in Iraq...this is making me crazy. I guess he could watch the discs on a computer, but I would rather he watch them on a TV for some reason...
Help if you can please! (begging emoticon here)

you need to burn to a dvd+r to play on a dvd player
:)
:)
My DH says if you have an old DVD player that might be the problem -- most newer DVD players will be able to play the DVD-R.
How are you transferring them?

nods - newer players can play dvd- and dvd+ r's.
but almost any player will play a dvd+r. So if you're burning to dvd-r , try burning to a dvd+r

It's a new Sony DVD player, but in my research to find the solution to my problem, I have learned it's a giant piece of garbage! I think I will try the DVD+R this time. TBH I had never even heard of that before! :O
Thanks ladies...Off to buy the othere DVDs :tu
