Does anyone have any tips for gardening while watching the baby? He'll be 7 months old by the time it has thawed out enough to start digging around in the garden. Will he be entertained enough sitting in a stroller while I tend to the flowers? What can I expect?

I didn't garden (we live in a townhome) - but we spent a lot of time outdoors while dd was a similar age. We would alternate things during the various times we went outside so she wouldn't get bored. So she set in the stroller, or crawled on a blanket (wasn't really interested in crawling off into the grass), sat in the exersaucer, sat in the bouncy seat. As long as she could see me and "talk" with me, we were fine.

:popcorn I'm planning on doing this with my 1.5 yo this spring. I think I'm gonna buy her a little plastic shovel and let her "help" me :)

When our babies were that little we had one of those baby back packs. As they got older we would let them play in the mud, bionutrients. ;) And last year for dd 3rd bday we bought a water table. We sat it up next to us and she and ds had a blast while we did our stuff. :)

What is a water table? Where do you get one? This sounds like fun. I've not thought of the baby back pack before, either. Thanks!

Thanks everyone! These really add to my pack of little tricks to try.

This the one we bought but there are lots of different ones. We got ours at ToyR'us
