I have several pairs of nice jeans w/holes on the knees (someone should make special reinforced jeans for moms who have years of floor time w/their kids!). I purchased a sewing machine a few years ago not thinking about its ability to access the knee area. :banghead So, I can't pull the pant leg onto the sewing arm/base (whatever you call it--I'm a novice!) I don't think I can sew a really nice tight patch on them either. So what do I do? :shrug Should I see if I can find a seamstress to sew colorful patches on these jeans?

Something else--anyone have a really good "how-to" guide for making an above-the-knee skirt from an old pair of jeans?

Thanks for any tips!

If you are going for the fun, colorful patched look...it's not too hard to do yourself. I'd use some iron-on stuff to attach it, then use a few funky embroidery stitches to decorate it and make it look stitched on.
