If you were setting up a play area for 3 children....5yo boy, 3yo boy, and a 20mo girl, what would your dream area hold??? Dh and I are thinking about getting rid of most of the toys we have and making an area for the dc. We are thinking of having a kitchen set with play food and kitchenware, an easel, lots of blocks and building toys like magnetix, dress up clothes. We want to have toys that really engage their minds and imaginations. Any suggestions??

I think it sounds great. :tu

What immediately came to mind are legos (spent HOURS as a kid playing legos!).. :grin

I look forward to hearing what others suggest. :popcorn

I agree, I think that you have great ideas.

Anything that inspires imagination. The first things that came to my mind were the kitchen set with food, blocks, legos, etc.

Ooh, dress up clothes is such a great idea! :tu

If I had a room to do it in, there'd be:

- a desk with drawers stocked with paper and art supplies
- a wooden box filled with costumes and dress ups
- lots of Tinkertoys and Legos
- a bookshelf with children's books
- a wooden kitchen play set

(This is what I want to do when we have a bigger house)

we got rid of tons of our toys and we are slowly replacing them with the wooden toys that i sell.

we now have a wooden easel, play kitchen with play food and pots and pans, tons of wooden instruments, tons of blocks, a xylophone, magnadoodle, and lots of art supplies....
we still need to downsize some of the crazy toys but they loooooove the food, easel, and the instruments.

you can check out the items that i sell at:

www.voilatoys.com (http://www.voilatoys.com)
www.habausa.com (http://www.habausa.com)

that can give you an idea of things to get too. the voila toys are inexpensive and they are great quality!
