First, let me say I'm not a vegetarian but I figured this would be the best place for advice.

What do you eat for protein? I'm not eating enough this pregnancy and I hate milk and eggs. I'll eat a little cheese and chicken sometimes but not every day and defintely not anywhere close to the recommended 80 - 100 grams of protein every day.

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated! :mrgreen

What kind of beans and how do you prepare them?

I get this mental picture of sitting down with a can of lima beans... :sick

Oh goodness--all sorts of beans :grin

Right now I buy canned beans mostly, but I like making them from scratch too. I'm planning on getting a pressure cooker soon because it can cook beans in 10 minutes :wow

I like:

Canneloni (white kidney beans--I eat the red but I prefer the white). These I might throw into a pasta salad or even a regular salad or saute into herb oiled sun-dried tomatoes :yum

Navy beans --great in soup or pasta salad

White Northern beans --I add these to lots of things

Black beans--great as refried beans and in Mexican food (burritos, taco salads, etc)

Garbanzo beans --just made some homemade hummus today YUM, and they make great falafels :yum

and Adzuki beans are wonderful :jump
