I, Little Miss No-Sew am SEWING!!!!!!! http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/otn/realhappy/jump.gif

I've never had much of an interest in sewing (I can't sew well enough to make anything worth wearing, so why bother?) and so I didn't like doing it, so I wasn't any good at it, so I didn't like doing it, so I wasn't any good at it, so I didn't like doing it . . .(cyclical, eh?) but lately I found all kinds of fun and simple things to make for the girls, so I actually got out the sewing machine!!! I made some little felt flannel pockets for a "cool seat" like discussed in the "AP" forum, and I bought some fabric to make a massage mat like the one I bought from MOE, and some fabric for a wrap (although I'm going to do the no-sew one--but that's like a craft, right, and I always hated those too!! :giggle) and right now I'm working on cloth wipees with cotton velour on one side and flannel on the other! I'm really a lousy seamstress, so I figure wipees are a good project for me, because if they turn out so ugly they look like butt-wipes, that's what they actually are!! http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/otn/realhappy/yllol.gif

Aren't I just the little Suzie Homemaker?? http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/otn/realhappy/jump.gif :jump2 http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/otn/realhappy/jump.gif :jump2

Okay, obviously I'm waaaay too happy about this!! But I just had to share, because not being able to sew has been a life-long deficiency for me!! http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/otn/blobs/multi.gif

I know what you mean - I always sneered at my mother doing crafts and stitching. I'd been married all of 2 weeks when I bought my first cross-stitch kit. I got married and the craft gene kicked in. :shrug I've been waiting 8 years for the housework one to manifest! :laughtears

Heh heh!! Somehow, getting married didn't do it for me--the first ten years of our marriage, my DH had to do his own hemming. :giggle And having my first kid didn't do it either . . . I guess maybe it was hanging around GCM and seeing all the neat things the other moms here are doing! :tu (Yeah, I'm still waiting on the housework gene, too . . . 13 years later--HAR!)

PS--I meant to say I used flannel, not felt for the coolseats. :giggle

What is a cool seat? I couldn't find it on the AP board.

Ok, have you ever seen a seamstresses house? I think it might be a one or the other gene.

Good job on getting into it, and nice to see you started with something manageable. I like to start a new skill with the most difficult project. I guess I take the mastery crash course or something. I decided I want to learn how to knit, and what do I want to make? A cable knit fishermans sweater!
