freezing herbs?

I buy cilantro to make salsa and always feel bad to throw more than half out. Can I freeze it?

I think so... I have friends who make pesto & put it in ice cube trays, then pop it in a ziplock bag... I think it's freeze fine, but not sure if you should chop it first or not. :think

Hmm, I've always wanted to know if you can do this. Anyone else ever tried freezing herbs?

I just read this in cook's illustrated... yes, you can... put them in an ice cube tray, cover with some water... then put the cubes in a zip-lock bag. :)
