Ds came home a few weeks ago with seeds he found on the ground during Field Day at school. He wanted to know what they were, so I figured we would grow them and try to figure it out. It has sprouted, but I still have *no* clue. Can you help?

Darn, darn, darn - I can't get the size right on this pic and it's late. This is compared to a dime.
It is a flat, brown diskish seed (looked like a Junior Mint to me - yummmm)
If it would help to see it bigger, let me know and I'll try again later :/

I know! This sucker has really sprouted up :grin Tried the seedsite.com - the seed pics are too grainy - it looks like a bunch of them and I was on pages that also showed seedlings - but didn't see any that look quite like mine. :think Perplexed.

What I would do is the seeds that look similar to what you have, search for pictures of that plant and see if the leaves/plants resemble what you've got growing there.

Your best bet would be to call or stop by a local nursery, describe the area where the seed was found and somebody may be able to tell you what grows in that area. Seeds fly on winds too, so it could be not from around your area. It does look familiary but then I have absolutely no green thumb, if its green it is alive. :giggle

I think it looks like some kind of jasmine. The leaves are a little greener than my Asian Jasmine, but the same shape. :think

Did you ever figure out what it was? What does it look like now?

Hmmm, come to think of it, it doesn't look much different now :shrug I think it's time to pot it. We'll work on that this week.

ot: Cameron thought I killed his bean plant he grew in a cup at school. I can't wait to show him that it is now growing up my umbrella pole on the picnic table :laughtears I noticed it today. It took awhile for me to get it into a pot, by then I had to pull a lot of dead leaves and it *was* yellowish - but *not* dead. It is flourishing! Now, what to do with a bean plant :think
