I slipped up so bad today. I spanked my oldest three a FEW times today. :( I am just SO out of it lately. I am under *tremendous* stress, all due to money issues. I am serious ladies-I am not sure how dh will put gas in his car next week, AND us pay our phone bill. I don't have a DIME to give the phone company :( But not just that....in a cpl mths I am going to have to work, and go to school-both from home-and be homeschooling. I don't know how I'm gonna do it and I hate it. I could just cry. I lose my temper at the slightest thing, and I was SO fed up this morning having to tell them 6-7 times to clean up, they KNEW I wasn't hovering over them b/c I was busy around the house, and I just lost it and yelled. Later, spanked (for other things...namely the older two getting up out of bed during quiet time, forcing me to go ni there to reprimand, means I lose my nap having to do this several times and I just flipped my lid. I am just so on edge, and to top it off I think Aunt Flow is on her way any day :rolleyes

I wanna cry :( I HATE spanking, but I just get so fed up some days. What can I do on those days I'm SO fed up?? They just IGNORE what I've told them?? What consequences can be for not staying in bed during quiet time (NOT a difficult task, esp when they haev their TV in there on PBS, so it's not like they are staring at walls) ???? :bheart :banghead

How old are they? Mine go through phases when they keep getting out of bed, either for naps or bedtime. Sometimes I just sit in there with them. I'll read my book, and shush them if they get rowdy. Usually my presence keeps them peaceful. Perhaps PBS is too stimulating? I give my kids books during quiet time. They are almost 6 and almost 4. The older one reads, but the younger one just looks at books he has memorized. Sometimes they choose to lay down and sleep instead of read if they are tired. They are NOT in the same room together. That doesn't work for us!

Oh, and I spanked today too. :sad2 I am not feeling well and I didn't get enough sleep last night. When will I learn??? God forgives us. :hug

I'll put my hand up and say I spanked today too. My youngest has bronchitis and is bored with being at home (it's winter down here and it's been a bit chilly) so we haven't been socialising like we usually do. With me it's like the frustration just builds up and explodes and that's when the spanking happens. We are also having money issues at the moment too and I know how stressful it is. I will pray for you tonight that things will get better.

:hug You know what happens when you can't pay all the bills? You pay the ones you can and manage. We've lived with phone or t.v. or internet for weeks because we couldn't pay for them. It wasn't easy, but we did just fine. :) God took care of us, and he is taking care of you too.

I know how stressful money issues are - dh and I filed for bankruptcy about 16 months ago, and he lost his job 2 months after that. We were literally penniless - but we never went hungry or did without necessities. :praise

It will be ok. :hug Apologize and move on. And let God handle the details about the money - He's not going to abandon you. :D

I slipped yesterday too! I didn't spank, but I did YELL at my kids!!! We were waiting in the pharmacy for my prescription and they were just running all around and screaming. I kept asking them gently to please be quite, but they kept doing it. So finally I yelled. They both looked at me so shocked and the 2yo started to cry! I felt like the WORST mother in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was NOT a good example of GBD! We all have days like this!!! Hang in there. Pray about everything and the Lord will help you. Can your church help you out a little financially until you can get back on your feet?! :grouphug

have you called the phone company? a few times we've had to call them up and ask to wait on paying the bill. they want a date that you can, but it will give a lil extra time atleast.
