I want to knit a wool soaker

My 11 yo dd has started knitting, and has me interested...She knitted a scarf and baby booties, and is making a blankie for our new baby! :tu I was wondering if anyone knows of an easy pattern for a wool soaker/shorts for a beginner, or even a free one. My dd is due in Aug, so I'd need a pattern for a newborn and bigger. I like the soakers with the ruffles on the leg cuff, and also the shorts. I know how to crochet too... I've seen some pics posted here of homemade ones. :heart Please share any advice, tips or info that you have to help me get started...I'd really appreciate it. Thank you so much!!! :hearts

Earlier today I googled "free soaker pattern wool" for a friend and gobs came up :tu
