We have a Holmes model 240. It's a little loud, but it works well (if I keep the filters changed on time :blush). I use it in DS room, and I find I rarely have to dust in there, while I am always dusting weekly in the rest of the house. DS likes the noise for helping him sleep :shrug.

There is growing concern about ozone released by ionic purifiers. Ours has an ionizer that can be turned off while the Hepa filter continues to work. Since I recently read an article in consumer reports about the possible dangers of the ionizer, I now keep the ionizer off. I can't tell the difference in performance anyway. Look for one that uses a Hepa filter only, or has a switch for the ionizer. HTH!
