I want to buy a sling for new baby, but Ijust don't know what kind to buy! I've been looking and looking, but many seem sooooooooo big and bulky! I know for a fact, that I DO NOT WANT A NOJO :td Sling, as my friend had one and let me borrow it and I hated it! I really want a lightweight one that's easy to use, and I don't feel like baby is going to fall out! Any thoughts? I used the Baby Bjorn with both my other kids and I really like it, but it got hard when the babies got big, so I think a sling would be better for that, plus having a baby and two toddlers! YIKES! :eek AND a deployed husband!! DOUBLE YIKES!!! :eek :eek Thanks, ladies!!!! :peace

Personally, I think the ring sling is the easiest to use with a newborn and the most versitale. It's not my favorite now that Colin is 19 months, but I still use it for quick outings and the like. If you're just going to buy one, I'd definitely go with that one.

Do you sew at all? Because they're *super* easy to make. If I can do it, anyone can. :P

Sorry, not a sewer here! Want to make one for me and I'll pay you?! If not, where/how can I get a ring sling?! Thanks! :hug

Here are some of my fav. sites for buying slings:

http://www.mayawrap.com/

http://www.hotslings.com/

http://www.lucky-baby.com/p_home.asp

http://www.thecarryingkind.com/

This one has an awsome comparison chart: www.peppermint.com - that one was very helpful when I started slingin dd

Maybe others have some fav. websites where they got their slings...

I vote for the Sling-Ezee. Motherwear has them. I love mine! Check motherwear.com.

well, i def. have to spam mine.

www.cuddlencarry.com (http://www.cuddlencarry.com)

it's an asian type carrier...the best i've ever tried...
i've tried the ring slings, a hard carrier, pouch, and a wrap.
i've also tried other mei tei carriers (asian carrier) and i made mine for my preference and it seems to be other mom's preferences as well. :grin

i have wider straps, padding, and a hood for the baby and for you for extra nursing discretion.

i've used my sling since my ds was first born and he still uses it at 20 months and loves it!
my dd and ds fight over who gets in it if we're at the store even :tu

you can pm me if you have any questions. :highfive

For a newborn to 6 months my favorite was www.wisewomansling.com (http://www.wisewomansling.com). Now my faves are a mei tai or a unpadded ring sling. I have yet to try a pouch but am very tempted....

I just found a great website with tons of information. www.kangarookorner.com

Check it out if you want info on different slings. I wish I'd known about it before I bought two slings!
