we found another -larger- box turtle on our porch today. I think it may be the "spouse" of the first one we found. right now we have both in the aquarium set-up and they are doing well but I don't know if I should let them go or not? if they ARE a "mom and dad" there may be babies in the yard as well.

confused! :sad2

Well, turtles aren't exactly parental, and I believe that baby turtles are born completely independent.

turtles lay eggs and burry them, never think about them again

We used to have a neighbor who had a box turtle "extended family" living in their back yard :laughtears. They had an old plastic play pool upside down and covered with dirt and grass (looked like a little hill) that had a couple entrances for the turtles to get infor shelter and hibernation during the winter. We would go over and feed them fresh vegetables and fill their little water dishes. Is there a way the turtles could live in your yard?
