A designer I really like, Mo Jackson, is offering a free kit at her website, www.mojackson.com... you have to do a survey, but hey you get a great free kit! Here's a Layout I did with her free Melissa's Garden kit...

Everything except from the green ribbon is from the free kit... and there's more to it, it's really cute. :)

Also, the Shabby Princess has a new free kit at her site, www.shabbyprincess.com that is really nice! :)

Just thought I would share!

That's awesome Amy! :) It's so much fun. :tu

I would start by playing around with free kits that you find... maybe start by doing some "scraplifting" where you copy someone's layout, or do a challenge (RAKscraps.com has a challenge section, may give you inspiration). Start a "favorites" files at one of the websites that has galleries... after a while you will start to notice what "styles" you are drawn to, and that will probably give you an idea of what kits might appeal to you... I have some favorite designers myself that I can recommend... I love www.thedigichick.com, www.digitaldesignessentials.com, www.playonelements.com and Jen Wilson who sells her stuff at scrapbook-bytes.com. I also love cottagearts.net and escrappers.com for their wonderful tutorials! :)

But the free kits that I have posted here are really great, and you could probably do quite a few pages with the free kits you've found. :) I try to buy kits that I can think of 2-3 photos or layouts that I could use them for, or if they have "elements" that I really like that I know I could use in different ways. :)

Do you need a digital scrapbooking program to use them?

You just need a general program like Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop Elements or similar... I *believe* if you go the to photoshop website there is a free trial program you can download to try it out!
