General computer question

Something is wrong with my volume, it just started last night. Some radio you have to turn the volume all the way up to barely hear it and some other computer sounds are so loud when it beeps or something it just blares out! What could have happened and how can I fix it??

Do you know how to get in to the volume control panel? Maybe you can adjust it in there. What Windows do you have?

Windows XP and yes I think I know how, but it's weird because sometimes it's loud and sometimes not.

I did just adjust it in the control panel and that seemed to fix it. WEIRD!! Thanks for the help!
