Just curious about how much weight typically fluctuates between siblings... be sure to explain if you have an outlier, like a preemie :grin

lets see Brandon was right on time at 6.5lbs. (remember I am not his bio-mom, but his weight still plays a factor) Hope was 4 days early at 7.5 lbs. Hugh was 2 weeks late at 8.5 lbs. I am looking forward to 9 lbs if I ever have another! :grin

Both of my children were born two weeks early. Both were under seven pounds and almost exactly the same weight. Both made up for lost time, reaching the fiftieth percentile or higher within a few months after birth. They are not biological siblings but they both came from the same country. My son is quite tall for his age, even by Norwegian standards, today. My daughter will probably always be a little on the short side.

Interesting results so far. The slightly smaller group seems rare, yet the much smaller group is up there with the larger groups, that's really interesting. I always thought it was strange that my 2nd baby was 2lbs smaller than my first, but maybe that is more common than i thought.

1st baby ... starting point...8lbs. 14 oz.
2nd baby (-2lbs., 1 oz) 6lbs., 13 oz.
3rd baby (+14 oz.) 9lbs., 12oz. (this one was almost 3 lbs bigger than the last!!!) I cried when my midwife predicted that :P~...
4th baby (+7oz.) 9lbs., 5oz.

Also, I remember one other factor, boys are usually bigger than girls...

my dear stepson Brandon was so small as he was because his mommy was addicted to painkillers............she would "hop" from hospital to hospital with complaint after complaint. :sad2

I get the point of your question now (sometimes I'm a little slow). Both of my children (one boy, one girl) were first babies for their birthmothers, and both were under seven pounds. However, I'm assuming that their birthmothers were quite small. One birth father was 5'10", though. One birth mother was ill, so that may have affected the weight of the baby at birth. Both babies were born two weeks early, one by c-section.

ds1: 8 lbs 14 oz, two weeks past due date*
ds2: 8 lbs 15 oz, one week before due date*

* Likely a negligible influence, because my cycles aren't very regular.

Both of mine were born eight days early. Tommy was 6 lbs. 8 oz and looked like me as a baby. I was 6 lbs. 4 oz.
Bethany was 9 lbs 5 oz. and looked like Daddy when she was born. He was 9 lbs 10 oz at birth.

It's funny how that worked out. :heart :cup

My Missy was 10lb10oz at 42 weeks.
My Bear was 7lb11oz also at 42 weeks - but she had reduced amniotic fluid and a degenerating placenta so that probably explains her being so small.

sis 9 lbs 10 oz
bug 8 lbs 10 oz
mouse 8 lbs 11oz

The first 2 were born 10 days before my due date, the last one was born 2 days after my due date.

Both of mine were 8 lbs 1 oz, born at the same gestation. (41w6d)
Nathaniel was one inch longer than his sister.
He was 22 inches, and she was 21 inches.

Both were just a few days late (3 and 4 respectively).

Justin was 6 lbs 14 oz
Nathan was 8 lbs 4 oz

Difference is 1 lb 6 oz, so I voted 5 - 1.5, but 2 oz away from 1.5 or up.

#1 - 7 lbs, 3 oz. (38 weeks)
#2 - 7 lbs, 2 oz. (38 wk, 3 days)
#3 - 7 lbs, 2 oz. (39 wk, 4 days)

I just grow 'em all the same size. :D

My firstborn was 7 pounds.

My secondborn was 10 pounds.

My second was only 1cm (<1/2inch) longer than my first, but 3 pounds heavier - and I breastfed all through the pregnancy. :-)

All my children were born within a few days of their due dates.

Baby #1 9lb8oz.

Baby #2 8lb8oz.

Baby #3 9lbs

Baby #4 8lb8oz.

Baby #5 8lb13oz.

Baby #6 9lb.

Baby #7 10lb.

Baby #8 10lb8oz.

So there is a 2lb difference between the smallest and largest but only a one pound difference between #1 and #8.

My first was 7lb6oz at 40 weeks.

My second was 8lb3oz at 40 weeks

My third was 6lb12oz at 39 weeks.

I was visibly smaller during my third pregnancy, and I gained about 10 lbs less. Don't know why?

mine were about the same, ds 1 was 41 wks and 10 lbs, but ds2 was 37 weeks induced and 9.5lbs. so i guess if i was not induced he might have been a tad bit bigger.
