View Full Version : Will This Meat be Safe?

I went to the farmer's market today (Blueberry day! I can't believe it is blueberry time already!)
When I was there, I was pleasantly surprised to see a farmer selling his pasture raised beef and free range chicken.
I bought a chicken breast and some ground beef.
They were packed in vacuum sealed bags and frozen.
By the time I got home from market, the edges of the chicken and the outer portion of the beef were not frozen solid anymore. I figured it not safe to refreeze.
So, I put them in the to continue thawing.
My question is, I can not ready to use either one!
So, do you think the chicken (which I already stuck in marinade) will be good tomorrow and the beef wait until Saturday or do you think I should just go ahead and make the chicken tonight and then use the beef tomorrow? The beef is still pretty frozen but the outer portions will thaw soon, as it is a big hunk of beef!

It should be fine. :) Just watch it for discoloration or funky smells.
