I'm playing today. I'm indulging in this first moment of solace that I've had in a long time. And I'm trying out all these digital thingies.

I'm not very good though. I'll post an example when I'm not at school (can't here), but how to you use *.png files to make them transparent. Am I missing something?

I don't even think I'm asking that question right. Maybe you can post me to some online resources for how-to?

What program are you using, Camille? I use PSE 3.0... I open a new file, or a background page, and then open my pictures & individual elements & cut & past them onto my "page"... I'm not sure what you're asking about the transparency... :think

I use Adobe Photoshop 7. There are several features that reduce opacity. Is that what you are looking for? I do suggest checking out a tutorial on digiscrapping that works with the platform you use. There are some great ones out there.

P.S. I'd love to see what you've done! I'm so far behind on my scrapbooking. Digi or paper. lol. Maybe you can help inspire me to get started again. :D

I use PaintShopPro. And if I can get Mr. Busy-DH to help, I think we can figure out the transparency thing. What I mean is this. . . . You have an eyelet. How do you get the image (downloaded off of scrapbook-bytes) to by JUST the eyelet so it rests on the "paper" like it should? Ack -- I know I'm not clear.

And I know this is rough, but I'm still playing:

Most "elements" I use are already on transparent backgrounds... What does it look like when you past it? I assume you've made sure it's brought it forward so it's not hiding behind something? ;) It looks cute so far! What is the name of the kit- maybe if I could download it & see the "eyelet" in question I could help you more. :)

Here's the kit (http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=79730&cat=10109). Here's what my eyelet looks like when I open it in PSP:

Ok... I downloaded it...When I opened it it photoshop it os already on a transparent background... when you copy it & paste it onto a layer, what do you see? I see just the eyelet...

Found it! I needed to install some different updates. For future reference, if any PSPers out there are reading, the link is here (http://www4.jasc.com/pub/patches/psp704ep.exe).

Thanks for being patient with me!
