Can anyone recommend a remedy for migrane headaches?

Thanks! :grin

Feverfew capsules work great when I take them at the onset of a migraine. I'll talk to my mom, she used to keep a "migraine garden" in the backyard where she grew a variety of herbs which she dried into "headache tea". It was absolutely wonderful and I wish she still had that garden!

Have you tried keeping a journal of when you get them and what your possible triggers are? I found that mine has to do with eating too little protein or too many "bad" carbs. I also get them from caffeine or cheap chocolate.

I know that Dr. Mercola recommends oil supplements too :)

Water.

Honestly--I find that dehydration has a direct effect on whether or not I get migraines. They can also be caused by hormones but my midwife explained that water dilutes the hormones and reduces migraines caused by them as well. Also, a drink of a caffeinated beverage when it starts. I've also found I get them when I have serious sinus pressure so drinking all that water or a soda with some tylenol and sudafed helps at those times.

But the biggest thing I believe is staying hydrated in the first place.

I've also heard that gatorade can help if its caused by dehydration. Its not super natural, but it has helped me out in a pinch :)

Recharge is a much healthier form of electrolytes than Gatorade--made from fruit juice and without all the chemicals :D

When I feel one coming on ...I take some Sulpher (homeopathic remedy)....the first time I tried it went away within 2 hrs...the last time...I don't even remember how long it took to go away. Now..there are several different remedies and what works for me may not work for you.....(that is how they work...go off of a personal symptom picture)...will see if I can't find some of the other remedies....I just kind of lucked out finding this one for me..hehe

Thanks so much for the suggestions. I don't normally suffer from migranes, alhough most members of my immediate family members do. I had a horrific experience with one a couple of days ago. I felt completely paralized by the pain and weakness! I honestly felt like I was dying. :sick2 So, I want to be prepared should I have one again.

Thanks again! I will certainly check the links out. :-)
