Sophia has a boo-boo...

My 10lb Italian Greyhound, Sophia, has a boo-boo. We went home for Mother's Day - last minute - to surprise our Moms.

Sophia was out on a porch with Cheyenne (a rather aggressive Jack Russell) and I heard her cry! I was nursing Jax and couldn't get up to see what was going on... my BIL/SIL let Sophia in the house (keeping Cheyenne out) and I saw blood on her face. Cheyenne bit her! She has a small (a little smaller than an eraser on a pencil) wound on her snout/nose. I have been cleaning it with peroxide and putting neosporine on it. Is this enough?

Should I be doing anything else for her?

The Neosporin should be ok, Polysporin is non toxic also just keep it clean and try to keep her from bothering it. We use both on our wounded animals and they do fine.

I would avoid the peroxide, as it can kill the good tissue along with the bad, and prolong healing. Though it may stain temporarily, iodine is much safer and more effective.
