Any suggestions? Your favorites?

Lotsa writing or little writing isn't important, he can type the writing assignments on the computer :)
Mostly I just want one that gets into parts of speech, sentence structure, etc. and doesn't focus on just punctuation and capitalization (such as Daily Grams from what I've heard).

I used Easy Grammar 34 for my daughter this past year. It definitely has plenty of parts of speech and sentence structure.

I really like Rod & Staff's 3rd grade English book(s). We are about 4/5ths through it and learning about adverbs. I like it because it's a good refresher for me, too :lol, and all the lessons are laid out.

The Well-Trained Mind people also have put out a tape for their book First Language Lessons that I want, but that's for 2nd grade (and 1st).

Easy Grammar is easy to use, and can be easily integrated with a program like Multi-Sensory Grammar if your son needs more pizazz.

I'm also using Rod & Staff for English. We're doing the 2nd grade book right now.

Butting in if I may, b/c I'm looking for a grammar curriculum for next year for my (then) 4th grader...

How long does Easy Grammar take every day? (how much time each day I mean)

Thanks!
Amanda

We've used Easy Grammar and Daily Grams, 3rd grade. It took about 12 minutes to do a good, thorough, neat job.

It took about 26 to do a quick, sloppy job, have Mom say "do it over" and to have to do it again, the right way.

:lol Joanne, regarding the time analysis! We find that to be true in our home too. ;)

I really like Shurley Grammar, except for the cost. :wow

We use Easy Grammar and Daily Grams.
Daily Grams is not meant to be the complete program. It is a supplemental review as Easy Grammar covers one topic at a time and does not return to it.
