I have a friend who is in need of some very high iron meals after her difficult delivery (lost huge amounts of blood).
Any ideas? She and her dh eat very healthy.....I want to fix them a nice meal that is packed with iron for her, but pretty yummy and healthy. Ideas? My first thought was to throw some beef liver, spinach, broccoli, and beans together, but.... :sick I need some better ideas :)

Lentil and spinach stew over brown rice is one of my favorites. :)

For dessert, sweet potatoes in blackstrap molasses sauce? I never made this but I heard it's good. :shrug

There is a great summary of iron rich foods here:

Brown rice
Spinach salad

Meatloaf!
And anything with smoked oysters in it. Though I usually don't cook these....

I also like meatball subs, and big spinach salads. Sometimes I add strawberries (a tiny bit more iron) and walnuts and almonds and mandarin orange slices to spinach salad.
