If you know what this is, what do you call it?

My family called it "gravy train". Brian keeps teasing me because he doesn't like the name of it since it reminds him of dog food. I decided to do a search on it to see what other people call it and I was :eek because I couldn't find anything like it! Here's what it is: mashed potatoes, topped with ground beef, topped with gravy. Has anybody ever had this? What do you call it?

I even searched for mashed potatoes, ground beef, and gravy on Google and nothing! So, is it just my family or do other people actually make this????

add corn and we call it shephards pie :)

sometimes instead of gravy i'll use soup or even marinara sauce :)

Remove the Gravy and add sliced cheese and we call it:

We used to make that a lot! I don't have a recipe though, because we used a powdered gravy mix, if you find an actual recipe, I'd love it! But, wanna know what we call it? Are you ready for this? "Hamburger Gravy over Mashed Potatoes"! :eek :P

My mil makes something similar but w/a bbq-type gravy and the mashed potatoes floating on top. She calls it "hamburger and clouds." By dh just calls in hamburger goulash
