I'm trying to start assembling my stash of CDs and was wondering something.

We're going to do the diaper service thing for the first two months, but then I need to have CDs of my own but I can't figure out what sizes to wear. I have no idea approximately how big a 2 month old baby might be. I think I'd like to have some fitteds/covers, some prefolds/covers and some AIO's (maybe 2 dozen, 6 and 6 of each and about 8 covers?)

Any help? What about one size diapers?

My daughter was 11 lbs, 10 oz. and 24.25" long. My son was 15 lbs, 7 oz :eek (I wouldn't plan on one that big, LOL) and 24.5" long.

50th percentile for boys is around 11.5 lbs, 23" and 11 lbs, 22.5" for girls.

I started cloth at 3.5 months with DD and it was perfect because she could just barely fit in most medium sized stuff, which means you will probably need smalls for a month or two.

Have youthought about one size fitteds? My favorite is growing greens hemp fitted. So soft and absorbant.

i really love my MEOS after 6 weeks. My kids have been 6-10, 7-10, and 7-4 at birth, and I would say were around the 10-11 lbs at 2 months I think.

I love AP moms! You always remember all sorts of details about your kids!

Thanks for the link to the growth charts - I totally forgot to check those. Aren't BF babies a little on the smaller side, usually?

Yes, I thought about one size diapers. I didn't know which brands are truly "one size", KWIM? I think I'll check those out.

What are MEOS?

My second was born at 9 lbs 13 oz, and was 14 lbs 13 oz at his 2 month appointment. I can't remember what my first was a 3 months, but he was only 15 lbs at 6 months.

kenzie was *almost* 7lbs, abbey was about 10-11lbs and nik was the same. I'd assume you'd need smalls. one size might still be too bulky, but thats only if it'd bother you :o)

I'd be inclined to get more covers than that, or have a pack of sposies. just my ds would poo EVERY hr or less so we had to change him a lot of course and i know that 8 covers wouldnt have been enough, just a thought :)

After 3-4 months bf babies gain slightly slower in weight but in the first few months the growth rate is similar.

My kids at two months were
Ham and Cheese: both around 6.5 lbs (4-0 and 4-8 at birth)
Princess: about 11-12 lbs (7-3 at birth)
Lemur: about 12 lbs (9-7 at birth)
Noodle: about 10 lbs (6-5 at birth)

Really depends on genetics really. With Princess on down I was using primarily Kushies Ultras in the infant size starting at around six weeks (two weeks with Lemur). Starting at two months will enable you to probably skip newborn dipes but you will likely need the next smallest size unless you have a chunker.

my son was 15.2 at 2months. Bf babies tend to gain more in the first 6months, and those on formula continue on that wt curve, which is why bfbabies start to come back on or fall off the charts around 6 months.
I started on cd when he was 5 months, and had to use med as he was so round in his tummy and thighs, so fat. inrestingly enough, some of the proraps he used at 7 months he still uses now at over 2 as he has slimmed down in both the legs and tummy.

I personally would wait and buy when your baby is closer to two months old. That waY you can see what you like about the diaper service and what system you might like and how big your baby is?

oop my baby is up..
