I have a pregnant friend who is looking into using cloth diapers. She wrote me with a bunch of questions today. Anyone have any good links for a person totally new to cloth? She said she did a search but all the sites had a bunch of abbreviations and she couldn't understand it all. Thanks!

Here is part of her email. I would send her here, but she is not an AP mom, yet. :) She is an incredible Christian, but this is her first baby and she is approaching it pretty mainstream I think. I have spoken to her about some things like breastfeeding, diapers, etc., and have invited her to a LLL meeting, but I don't want to completely overwhelm her. Last time I spoke with her I did, so I have backed off a little. Anyway, here is what she wrote...

I wanted to ask you some questions about cloth diapers. I have been considering the idea, and I wanted to get some more information. But, when I went online, there were many websites filled with abbreviations that I did not understand. So it was hard to find good beginning information. Do you have any suggestions on resources for the basic how-to cloth diaper? How has your experience been with it? Like what types do you use? Where do you purchase your items? Do you use a diaper service or do you launder your own diapers? If you do your own, is there any special steps or etc.? How many diapers a day do you go through, and how many loads of laundry are you doing?
yeah, just basically any beginner information would be great :)
