Hmmm, you could just leave it out, or use sesame seeds.
Here is the one I make
1 can garbanzo beans
3 tbs lemon juice
3 tbs olive oil
3 tbs tahini (just omit and see how it is)
2 garlic cloves
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp salt
dash pepper
Now, if someone can post one for ground dry beans, as I keep forgetting to soak/cook my beans, that would be nice, too.
Hmmm, feels like I am missing something.

Hummus without the tahini? That's what makes it so good, IMO ;). I think there are a bunch of recipes on www.allrecipes.com that don't use tahini. I can't vouch for them, since I haven't tried any, but it looked like there were quite a few. Just search on "hummus".

Thanks! I did a search on allrecipes this morning :) I found one that I just tried. It's pretty good :)
I did a quick soak of my garbanzo beans this morning... boiled them for a few minutes, then let them soak in that water for a few hrs. It worked :)
Unfortunately my blender is having a hard time making it! I have an ancient blender and I think it needs to be replaced.
