What have you done for Birthdays. It's not a bunch of kids just mine and my niece. A bunch of adults. Here are two of my ideals. I always end up cooking too much. I would love a good Vegan cake recipe or suggestion.

White Chili
Cornbread
Green Salad

OR

Artichoke dip
Lasagna
Green Salad
Garlic Bread

Carrot cake for dessert.I might just get one from Costco, because my cakes really suck. So, that would be the only non-vegan food.

You just got the Sinfully Vegan cookbook, right? There a ton of yummy vegan cakes in there.

I would go with the second menu option with lots of finger foods for the kids. For various family get-togethers I've had hummus with vegetables and crackers, artichoke dip, pecan cheese ball with crackers, soup, fruit/vegetable trays

I like julbug's idea of finger foods for kids. My oldest ds would live off of cut veggies and dips...breadsticks would also be good with dips. I've been using my easy pizza dough recipe to make really yummy breadsticks. You could even let them use the veggies and stuff to make faces or other art :mrgreen on their plates.

No help on the cake. I have a great carrot cake recipe but it's got eggs.
