Last weekend, we went to a Rock and Gem show with ds. Very fun. In the vendor area, many vendors had "slabs" of material that can then be cut and polished to make beads or cabachons.

Well, I thought these slabs were just beautiful. I kept thinking about how amazing God is that he created even the rocks to be colorful and beautiful. And all week, I've been getting more and more interested in using slabs of rock to create a display on my living room wall. You know, hang them with plate hangers or something like that. It would need to be a collection because the ones I might be able to afford (over time) aren't huge -- maybe 5x6 inches, more or less.

Let me show you some images of some of the slabs I've been admiring on Ebay -- and then please tell me what you think.

I think it would be totally lovely...once you get started people will probably start buying them as gifts...my MIL has ended up with 5000000 teapots becasue of this..(i'm sure you wouldn't end up with that many rocks)
IT could be a real talking point, especially your reason for doing it , being amazed at God's beautiful creation....who knows where that could lead...

Those pictures are gorgeous! I've always liked rocks, too. I think it's a wonderful idea to form a display with them! :tu

We actually got given a clock for a wedding present that was one of those, with numbers and the hands stuck right onto the rock, it was very unusual...
