I found www.starfall.com the other day and my dd is having a blast. She will play on it for hours. Just thought I would share.

Jessica-

Thank you so much for that site because my sister just mentioned it when I talked to her before lunch but I forgot to write it down. (She homeschools too. )She said I've been mening to tell you about this cool website. Her daughters have had fun with the journals, which they got as gifts from a friend. When I read your post, a light bulb went off in my brain :-)

There's another one (oh, and mine love starfall!), called studydog. You download it, so you don't have to stay online. It's got some magic in it, but it seems little kid harmless. It's kind of like a Jumpstart or Reader Rabbit thing.

ooops! Sorry! Studydog is more for those learning to read! Should look at the title first, eh? :blush

My son is 2 1/2 and he loves starfall.com. He knows several letter and their sounds already. Plus, he's a 'puter whiz in training. :P

Thanks, that sounds like it will help my dd. She knows most all of her sounds, and we need to find a fun way to teach her how to put them together.

The studydog software looks neat. I am downloading it now so that dd can play with it when she comes inside. She is going through a computer phase right now, so I'm sure she will appreciate having something new to do! :)

Thanks! :tu

My ds(6) went through the entire Level one of Study Dog today (94%) and finished two of the Level 2 lessons(100%)! My dd(4) only made it through one lesson before she was ready to move on, but she got 100%! She made several watercolor paintings instead and played on Madeilines' Kindergarten CD.

My 4 year old loves Starfall! We discovered it about a year ago and he's become quite adept at using the computer. Sometimes my 20 month old will sit with her brother and watch too. She'll even ask for Starfall by saying "eh eh eh" (short "e" sound). Too cute! I'll have to check in to Studydog too.
