We plan to homeschool and pretty much always have. I always thought that was something we'd do when ds was older but really I wonder why I should wait. I'm sure there's more we could be doing now to make the most of this time but I guess I'm not being creative enough. Does anyone know of any good preschool resources for homeschoolers. I don't want a set curriculum. Just something to inspire me.

We use heavily modified "Letter of the Week" for ds. It's fun and the book suggests are pretty good. I used it as a starting spot and then have adapted it to better fit ds's interests. Plus I'm leaning toward Charlotte Mason style of h.s. so have added some ideas from that.

Here are a couple more resources:
Perpetual Preschool (http://www.perpetualpreschool.com/") (theme oriented, lots of ideas)
Ambleside Online (http://www.amblesideonline.org/") (good starting place for Charlotte Mason inc. some preschool age suggestions)

I used to think I needed a curriculum but I have recently just made up my own. We mainly use unit studies. Rachel will pick what topic she likes and we run with it. Like for the next couple of weeks we are doing spiders. We read about spiders (non fiction and fiction books), spider crafts, I make up a short terminology list and she copies it. She loves to memerize definitions and so I find short ones. We are trying to find a spider to capture but the weather has been crazy. We are also studying the parts of the spider. She is just loving this stuff. For handwriting practice along with the terminology we are doing Handwriting without tears...we are doing the numbers section now. For Bible we do AWANA, devotional, and God Prints Family Stuff. For math, we do either something relating to the theme (like counting, adding and subtracting spider rings) or something different. We got a magnetic calendar at Target and she is loving it. We are learning about the seasons, months, and days. She loves to draw and today she has been drawing trees with spider webs in between them. I used to be so stressed about if she is learning anything but she loves doing units and already she has decided what to do next...the human body---need to go get the board game Operation! I know that probably seems like a lot or maybe not but usually everything is done in less than 2hrs. We read, color, read, handwriting, crafts, and more reading. So she doesn't get board from just sitting and writing.

I was a pre-school teacher and use the holidays, seasons, etc to inspire the things I "teach" my DS. SO we will get a bunch of books on love around Valenties day and let him do art with mostly pink and red. We count cany hearts ans fucous on L is for love and letters and lace, etc

I have a topic schedule with colors and letters for a whole "school" year that can be followed in a very relaxed way if you are interested
