http://www.windowbox.com is fun. They have an interactive questionnaire (http://www.windowbox.com/cgi-bin/floracle/index.asp) that helps you figure out what plants will work for a given location based on the sun, rain, etc.

Awesome site for ordering perennials and they have a half price sale going now! They also have a "questionnaire" to fill out to determine what will grow best giving lighting conditions, soil conditions and your heat/cold zone.

Maybe you could type in your local city and tilth and get something similar?

Another local. Western Washington Master Gardening Program and extension office.

We got all our seeds from here this year. They had great service and everything came up really quick. So far I am very impressed. :)

www.directgardening.com

I got their flyer in the mail and thought their prices were too good to be true. We placed a large order as we're in a new house. Everything is doing really well and is growing faster than the neighbor's plants from Lowe's. We bought trees, shrubs, perennials, & groundcovers. Next year we're going to try their fruit bushes.

If you need a lot of plants, trees, and/or shrubs but don't have a lot to spend, go here!!!

Shipping is $9 no matter how much you order. 1 year warranty.

:yes I was going to suggest this site as well. I read about it in a post by someone else here and we ordered a bunch of trees for our new house. I just planted them a week or so ago, so I can't comment on how well they are growing yet, but you can't beat the price and warranty.

Organic seeds available in some varieties. I always get near 100% germination with veggie seeds from these guys. They ship to Canada and the States.

Organically grown heirloom seeds. These folks have an absolutely INCREDIBLE selection of tomato seeds. Really.

Lee Valley is awesome, but somebody already listed it.

Thank you for this endorsement! I had never heard of this company. We just ordered a huge ton of flowers and plants, including a bunch of thornless berries and grapes and eight new fruit trees. I'm so excited! :jump

You've already listed 2 of my three favorite companies (Johnny's Select Seeds and Baker Creek), so here's the other company in my top 3: http://www.anniesheirloomseeds.com/

One of the things we bought from Annie's last year was heirloom potatoes. They performed great, even in our clay soil. We saved most of them for replanting this year. But, the few we indulged in eating were fantastic.
